Acceptance Market Engagement Lead – Remote-First
We usually respond within three days
🚀 Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays
In today’s digital world, payments often still feel outdated: random delays and confusing rules make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid. The European Payments Initiative (EPI) is here to change all that, forever.
With Wero, our digital wallet, we make sending and receiving money simple, seamless and secure across France, Belgium and Germany, with more countries and omnichannel solutions coming soon. Supported by 14 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, EPI is building a new, proudly European payment system: easy, instant and transparent, all for the greater good.
🔎 What's in it for you
Build high-visibility events that shape the conversation around payments in Europe and work in a mission-driven environment where your impact directly supports the adoption of a truly European payment solution.
At EPI, we embrace a remote-first culture, enabling our teams to work remotely from the country they are based in, with in-person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.
💥 Your impact
As Acceptance Market Engagement Lead, you will play a central role in shaping EPI’s merchant-facing presence and industry dialogue.
You will:
1. Lead the design and execution of major merchant events
- Fully own the annual Merchant Forum and Wero Live events across our countries in Europe.
- Drive agenda creation and content development.
- Coordinate together with our field marketing on logistics, speaker alignment and moderation.
2. Build and nurture strategic relationships with key merchant associations
- Establish strong ties with European and national associations to understand their priorities and align them with event content.
- Coordinate regular exchanges, capture pain points, and ensure EPI’s voice remains relevant and credible in the merchant ecosystem.
- Act as a trusted contact for associations and a bridge to internal teams.
3. Define and implement engagement strategy across formats
- Maintain a small portfolio of key merchant accounts and establish a long term relationship to stay close to market needs and trends.
- Develop a clear strategy for merchant engagement formats and ensure alignment between existing and new initiatives (e.g., roundtables, workshops, co-creation sessions, pilots/POCs).
- Innovate with new approaches to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
- Identify recurring pain points (conversion, disputes, onboarding, fees, adoption) and share them with Acceptance & Product.
4. Drive cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Product, Market Acceptance, and local country teams to deliver impactful events and merchant-facing initiatives.
- Coordinate timelines, expectations and dependencies across multiple stakeholders.
- Represent the merchants perspective in workshops, working groups and content planning.
- Ensure all engagement efforts are reflected in internal tools and shared knowledge.
