💥 Your impact
- Offer expert legal counsel on a wide range of issues, including financial regulations and corporate commercial matters
- Ensure the company’s compliance with EU financial regulations and liaise with regulators such as NBB and DNB
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to support business operations and mitigate legal risks
- Identify and assess legal risks, providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders to support decision-making processes
- Support the General Counsel as deputy, setting team goals, managing workflows and defining legal strategy
- Manage multiple legal projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective delivery
- Work closely with the Legal team and the Risk & Compliance team to provide support and ensure overall organisational legal risk awareness
- Innovate and strive for continuous improvement in legal processes and the overall payments landscape

- Supported in implementing a Regulatory Watch tool,
- Supported in setting up an organization-wide obligation register and reviewing applicable laws to address specific client queries and prepare for company awareness programs on regulatory matters
🕵🏻♀️ To succeed, you should meet at least 70% of these requirements
- At least 15 years of post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house roles
- Master’s degree in law from a prestigious European university
- Strong knowledge of EU financial regulations and experience dealing with EU regulators such as NBB and DNB
- Corporate commercial experience within Fintech, regulated payments, or banking sectors
- Proven track record in handling legal matters across various jurisdictions and countries
- Comfortable handling a wide range of legal issues outside your core areas of expertise.
- Outstanding project management and organisational skills to effectively work on a variety on projects in a timely manner
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills in an international environment to communicate complex legal issues to internal stakeholders in a simple and clear manner
- Fluent in English (additionally, German or Dutch is appreciated)
- Thrive in a fully remote, multicultural environment (while being willing to travel once per quarter at a minimum)
